Dragnet 1967 is an American crime drama, the second television series in the Dragnet franchise, and the most recognized. The revival was called “Dragnet 1967” to differentiate it from the earlier series that aired from 1951 to 1959. Jack Webb reprises his role from the original Dragnet as Sergeant Joe Friday and is joined by his partner Officer Bill Gannon, played by Harry Morgan. The 1960s are on full display with psychedelic colors, characters, and crazy stories involving drugs, race riots, and public service announcements. Each episode starts with Friday describing what to expect, like what shift they will be working. The stories, based on real-life cases from the Los Angeles Police Department, are different each time since they rotate through various departments, allowing them to solve not only murders, but also robberies, frauds, narcotic offenses, and even arson. Each episode ended with the fate of the arrested suspects.
