The Monkees is an American television sitcom series starring Micky Dolenz, Mike Nesmith, Peter Tork, and Davy Jones, four young members of a struggling country-folk-rock band in mid-1960s Los Angeles. Looking for their big break, they often find themselves on zany adventures and have madcap encounters with a variety of people along the way. The band was created for the television series, however had popular hit songs with “Last Train to Clarksville”, “I’m a Believer”, and “Daydream Believer”. The Monkees songs were often written and produced by the musical duo Boyce and Hart (Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart).
